Norwegian teen accused of flying to UK for 'crazy' hitman job

A Norwegian teenager is on trial in London accused of travelling to the UK to carry out a contract killing on behalf of the Foxtrot criminal network, a Swedish organised crime group alleged to have links with the Iranian regime. Prosecutors claim 19-year-old Johannes Natland flew from Norway in March 2024 after being recruited through online contacts and promised up to €25,000 to carry out a murder. He allegedly collected cash, firearms, ammunition, and a stolen vehicle while following instructions sent through encrypted messaging apps. Police arrested him in a Huddersfield hotel before any attack could take place, discovering two firearms, ammunition, and cash in his possession. Natland has admitted possessing the weapons but denies conspiracy to murder. The case has highlighted growing concerns over international criminal networks using social media platforms to recruit young people for violent offences across borders. The trial continues as investigators seek to uncover the full extent of the alleged plot and those directing it.
